Mikayla D Hornedo is the author of **the new novel The Sun, The Storm, & The Shadows (Book 1 in the Hearts of Maya series.) Ever since she picked up The Chronicles of Narnia at a young age she’s been in love with everything fantasy. Whether that’s movies, tv shows, or books, Mikayla loves the feeling these magical worlds bring her. She is happily married with two beautiful young girls, who inspire her to go the extra mile every day.
The Hearts of Maya series is a Mayan-inspired fantasy romance novel series that mixes all of the fun and danger of the world of Fae with some of the cultural aspects of the Mayan people. As a Latina, she’s always loved learning about the different cultures across Latin America, and she found such joy in doing research into the Mayan civilizations. While the novel is only inspired by the Mayans and not a direct retelling of any of the stories, the fun colorful aspects of their world ring true. From the Gods, the ceremonies, and the art the land of Maya will keep you entranced.
